About Sande Gene
The one thing that I really disliked about all of the hundreds of pieces of jewelry that I had as I was growing up, was that I looked like everyone else. Everywhere I looked, I saw my piece of jewelry on someone else. I wanted to be different, unique, free to be just me and no one else. I really like being just Me, Myself, and I. So, MyCarolAnne has No assembly lines, No reproductions. Every piece is Handmade, Hand-crafted, and Unique. I try very hard not to copy or be just like some one else. I want you to be free to be just you.
OK, Now about me. I am not good at writing overviews. What to say is a real problem. What do I talk about? Me personally, my family, how I got started, what influences me? What? So, well, here goes.
My name is Sandee Jene. My father named me ‘Gene’, after him, since I was born first. He wanted a child named after him, and of course did not know if he would ever have a boy child at that time. He did, so I have a brother named Gene Jr.
My husband and I have three children. Two are deceased, hence the name of my business, MyCarolAnne. We have five grandchildren and six great-grand-children. One cat and one dog. Can’t leave them out. And, yes, we married young.
Before actually starting a business, I had dabbled in making jewelry. Friends and family always loved what I made. A few years ago I took a three-day one-on-one wire wrapping class and that was what really got me excited about a full-time business. After a dozen more professional classes learning as much as possible about all facets of jewelry making, I finally decided it was time to take the plunge.
ASBA (Arizona Small Business Assoc) offered a mentoring program, so I signed up. My mentor and I set up my web site and hired a web master. We began the learning of social media, networking, photography, and on and on. Learning is a never ending process. When I feel like I might know all I need, something else buts in and throws me for a loop.
Today, we are here. Every day I learn more and more and probably will never stop learning. My prayers are that you will enjoy the unique, hand-crafted designs and creations that come rolling out of my head as much as I enjoy designing and creating them. These ideas can take over and absorb my mind faster than I can get them down on paper to remember what they are. I really love what I do and very much want you to love what I do also.
My next step, which has already begun, is to teach. All four Saturdays of each month, I teach at a different location. Technique is my queue, not ‘Make and Take’ as most craft stores do. I very much want my students to learn how to do their own designs and creations from what they have learned in my classes. They should have the same free will of chosing their neckwear as I do.
Welcome to MyCarolAnne Jewelry. If you live in Phoenix, Arizona, come join one of my classes. You can find me on Facebook, Google, and Pinterest. My post appear about my classes each week. It would be a great joy to have you stop by and say Hello.
Thank you for listening to my rambling. Sandee Jene
